5 Natural Ways to Reduce Stress & Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are experiences for many people. To help alleviate these feelings, here are the top five natural ways to reduce stress and anxiety.

Exercise – Regular physical activity, especially aerobic exercises, has been proven to reduce overall tension, boost mood, improve sleep, and enhance self-esteem. Even just 15 minutes of exercise can have a positive impact on your anxiety levels.

Adequate Sleep – A good night’s rest is crucial for your overall health, as well as reducing feelings of anxiety. Set up a bedtime routine and aim to disconnect from electronics an hour before sleep. Indulge in a relaxing bath, and night-time skincare routine, and read instead of watching TV to help you fall asleep.

Time in Nature – Spending time in nature has been shown to decrease anger, fear, and stress while boosting feelings of calm and tranquility. Nature also contributes to physical well-being by lowering blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and stress hormone production.

Self-Care – Taking care of yourself is an important part of managing stress and anxiety. Start by doing one small self-care activity each day, like taking a shower, using your favorite lotion, or putting on makeup. As you become more comfortable, add more self-care activities to your daily routine.

Also, give yourself grace! Humans are not perfect! We make mistakes, we don’t always choose correctly, yet we are all beautiful and our strengths truly do outweigh weakness.
